We offer a wider range of outreach opportunities including workshops and interactive music sessions, all of which can be tailored to your requirements.

Testimonials

"...it was amazing to hear music in our school and for the children to be exposed to both composition and performance. It was fabulous to incorporate other curriculum areas, such as science and geography, and demonstrate learning in a creative way. The children particularly enjoyed learning outside of the classroom and meeting such talented performers."

— Julia, KS1 Phase Leader

Opera in Schools:
From Noah to Now

In March 2025, over two hundred primary and secondary school children took part in performances of Benjamin Britten's opera 'Noye's Fludde' in Hull and Grimsby Minsters. The project, run in partnership with the University of Hull and Hull and NE Lincolnshire music services, explores the use of opera as a means to engage communities with climate change, and was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

Concerts for Education

Through Howdenshire Music we visited primary schools in the Howden area, giving an interactive concert where the children were able to hear classical music in different languages, learn about the pieces, and even join in with singing and percussion. This was followed by a Q&A session for the children to learn about life as a musician.

Songwriting Workshop

Funded by Hull Maritime, and in collaboration with composer Dawn Walters, we visited Stockton School to work with the children on the creation of a new song. During the workshop we worked on lyrics, performed nature themed repertoire, and explored word painting through music. After the workshop we created the song and returned three weeks later to perform a short concert with the children, including the premier of Water Flooding through the World.
